Founded by Melissa and Kristy in October of 2006, Happy! Project started as a Japanese Pop cosplay group called Happy! Project but quickly evolved into much more. Within the first two years, the girls branched out to performing dance covers and live singing. They began receiving request to perform as special guests at conventions around the United States, and in 2010 were invited to perform their first full length concert.
Through a random encounter, the girls were introduced to a music composer and producer. They began working with Black Lamp Media in Summer 2011 and recorded their first original single titled "Muju Ryoku Boy, Ranhansha Girl" in August 2011.
The girls are in the process of releasing their first single and recording their second single to be announced in the near future.
Their current lineup consists of Melissa, Kristy, Tara and Morgan.
